How much does it cost to participate in a class?
1 hour Classes cost £3.50 for children and students and £4.50 for adults. 1.5 hour Classes are £5 for children and students and £6 for adults.
How do I join a class?
You can call to book on 07870411014, or alternatively turn up to the class of your choice and join in. Bear in mind that different classes have a different emphasis, so be sure to choose a class that suits your needs.
What can I wear?
Whatever you are comfortable in. We recommend loose fitting clothing, but in the end, comfort is the only deciding factor.
Am I too old to join a class?
We have individuals training with us from the ages of 5 to 65
I haven't done much exercise in the last few
years, will I find something to suit my needs?
Absolutely. The classes are very
relaxed and participants are only expected to do what they are
comfortable with. You will not be asked to do anything which you do not
feel capable of.
Do you run classes for children?
We have a number of dedicated children classes all over Edinburgh.
How old does my child have to be before he/she can
join?
We accept children from the age of 5 years old.
I'd like stay and watch my child participate in a
class, is this okay?
Parents are encouraged to stay if they wish to do so. Indeed, parents may even choose to participate with their child in simple ways. Alternatively, children may be left safely with the instructor for the duration of the class - although parents should check that the instructor is present and knows that you are leaving.
How do I know that my child or children will be
safe while in your classes?
In line with national guidelines, the Association has a Child Protection Policy with which all instructors should be familiar. please contact us for further information. In addition, all instructors undergo a Disclosure Scotland check; they must have a first aid certificate; they must have passed a national Assistant or Full Instructors course, and they must have insurance to teach with the Association.
Parents must provide
contact details at the child's first class.
Which martial arts can I train in?
Students will implicitly train in all of our available systems. Initially, the primary martial arts will be ICQC and Denkou Jujitsu - although training in Tae Kwon-Do, Silat, Kali, Kuntao etc. will also be taught throughout the syllabus.
Do you offer specialist classes?
Yes, we are available for private tuition, staff training for organizations, and frequently run short courses for self defence, close quarters combat and other specialist areas within the martial arts.
