Max Greene

Max first began the martial arts at the age of 5 years old (in Tae Kwon-Do). Throughout his teens he continued with this at a competitive level, while also cross training in several other disciplines, providing him with various levels of experience in a number of systems including Tae Kwon-Do, Karate, Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, Five animals & Five ancestors Kung Fu, Bagua, Muay Thai, Silat and Kali. To date he holds 3rd Dan recognition in Integrated Close Quarters Combat and 2nd Dan recognition in Tae Kwon-Do, Denkou Jujitsu, Pencak Silat and Kali - graded by Tom Hibbert (MBE)

Max believes that the primary goal of the martial arts should be to teach effective self defence, and so this is always the core focus in any of his classes (though he still instructs many of the sporting aspects of the arts.)

In July 2008 Max was introduced to Guru Maul Mornie (Silat Suffian Bela Diri) whom he began to train under, and in March 2009, hosted the first ever Silat Suffian Seminar in Scotland. He is now the scottish representative of SSBD,  as well as the founder of the Self Defence Society at the University of Edinburgh, and "The Martial Arts Forum"- Facebook's most successful eclectic martial arts group.
