Level 1
Level 1 training is designed to take a student from absolutely no knowledge if necessary. In practice, this is usually not the case as most new members already have some level of martial arts experience. However, frequently this experience will tend to be in one specific area: for instance, individuals who have done grappling arts in the past may lack some of the foundational skills for effective striking and vise versa.
Level 1, therefore, most commonly acts as an equalizing level to make sure every one is on as even a playing field as possible and has foundational knowledge in all areas.
