Level 1
Level 1
training is designed to take a student from absolutely no knowledge if
necessary. In practice, this is usually not the case as most new members already
have some level of martial arts experience. However, frequently this experience
will tend to be in one specific area: for instance, individuals who have done
grappling arts in the past may lack some of the foundational skills for
effective striking and vise versa.
Level 1, therefore, most commonly acts as an equalizing level to make sure every
one is on as even a playing field as possible and has foundational knowledge in
all areas.
